I said to myself this year that I would see the Artic Monkeys in concert somehow. And lo and behold, an opportunity came up in March and I jumped on it! I’m so glad I did and that I didn’t have to figure out how to get to some place I ain’t ever been to. That would have probably turned out not so great. But I’m glad I found out that they were playing in Toronto! What a bonus!! I have family there and it worked out great. I was on the moon. So, we get to the concert arena to a massive crowd, I couldn’t believe it. All young and older people, and every one dressed in summer gear ready to party with the Artic Monkeys. We had tickets (lawn seats) but who’s complaining this was the Artic Monkeys, right? And it was live! It was an hour wait but I didn’t care, I was just thrilled to be there. So when the opening act was done, I sat excited and waited patiently of hearing that first riff. My daughter was my company and hadn’t heard much of the band but she enjoyed what she heard. She especially liked I Wanna be yours. So, finally the infamous opening started with Do I Wanna Know and the crowd rose to their feet and hollered with cheers. I, along with them. I danced and sang. I snapped photos on my IPhone and my camera. I shot a few videos with my camera. I loved it! I was in heaven for ninety minutes and it was glorious! I still have the residue of the night with me and I think I will keep the residue. It’s good residue! But I’m looking forward to seeing what they do down the road and I’m sure we haven’t heard the last of them. And if I find another venue with their name on a billboard or poster close by, I will be sure to be there. Until then I will keep playing their songs and dancing to their tunes!
