The price of words

The price of words are, in a sense, priceless.  They cost nothing to say but their value can be worth billions.  What’s more is that their priceless value is sometimes even worth more than money can ever buy.  I think of the words given to me from people like my parents, the stories shared.  Though they are at rest, their words live on, through me.  We don’t know when the people we love will no longer be here so I think words are something we need to pay attention to.  Though sometimes in our busy lives this is difficult.  But sacrificing time and energy to be with the people you love make all the difference.  When they are no longer here, their words are all you have to hold on to.  It’s a hard pill to swallow but it’s one that is necessary.  We aren’t guaranteed tomorrow, but we are guaranteed right now.
